I started out back in 2015 when I made a radical shift from a 9-5 salaried job to try and make my way as a maker and blacksmith. Over the years and after a couple of transatlantic moves I have now settled as woodworking artist and cosplayer. Today was a relaxed one where I got a few last bits in (I can now make myself blue), a bit if tidying up and putting away, and adding some spats to my shoes. Tomorrow, I will get the leg wraps finished off and trim off the thread ends. Bring on #mcmc
A quick cos-test as I've now completed the majority of the work. All that's left now is trimming all of the thread ends, attaching the velcro to the gaiters, adding spats to my shoes and then making myself blue..... I may even have a chance to get my
The weekend saw me brave the less than ideal weather, and I got all of my spray painting done! I've also added the weathering and detail passes and am now on final assembly. The second version of the cowl is so much better, and it's now feeling that
Paint! Today I managed to get the last of the sanding and heat smoothing done, and I'm now ready to start adding colour. I just hope the plan I have actually works out and I get the effect of after.....
Today I braved the workshop... and was pleasantly surprised at how mild it was. I've now heat smoothed and sanded the skull cap and pauldrons, heat smoothed the front armour plates, and after an initial sand of the hammer decided it would be better o
I've now patterned and made some arm wraps, and the leg wraps are cut and just want sewing. I'm running out of steam for the sewing machine, so tomorrow I think I will get out to the workshop and start sanding things for a change of scenery.
